Q. What type of materials do you accept?
All garbage, refuse, and Municipal Waste along with any type of construction or demolition materials including concrete, brick, block, asphalt, wood, siding, roofing materials, concrete, pipe anything that can come off a construction or remodeling site. All skids, wood crates and wood packaging. If you have been taking the above materials to a landfill you can now recycle these same materials at Green Tech Recycling. Also accepted are appliances, metal and electronic waste. All types of paper are also accepted.
Q. Do you offer containers for pick up of materials?
Yes, Industrial Disposal & Recycling offers complete Roll Off dumpster service. You can contact them at 574-232- 2500 or 574-232-6000.
Q. Where are you located? I tried to Google you and could not find your location?
Green Tech Transfer & Recycling is located south of the corner of Ewing and Franklin Street, South Bend, Indiana behind the South Side Little League Park. Google 300 West Eckman Street, that will take you to our main gate. Or call 574-232-6000 for directions.
Q. What don’t you accept?
We cannot accept medical waste, hazardous waste, toxic materials such as chemicals, cleaners, asbestos, paint or liquids. Also tires and automotive type batteries are not permitted.
Q. Do I have to sort any materials before bringing them in to Green Tech Recycling?
No. Green Tech Transfer & Recycling is a full service operation. We do all the sorting for you and recycle the material.
Q. What do you do with the materials that are brought in?
Green Tech Recycling separates all the materials then will bale, grind, crush, or shred the materials to the specifications of those who use the raw materials. Some of the processed materials are available on site for sale such as wood mulch, stone, bricks, crushed asphalt, and fill dirt. No electronic waste is shipped to China from this facility.

Q. Who can bring materials into Green Tech Recycling?
Most of our customers are commercial haulers, but everyone is welcome. We have a special area for homeowners to unload safely away from the large truck traffic.
Q. How much does it cost?
Generally we charge per ton or by the load, we do this by weighing your vehicle when you pull across the scale on coming to the facility and then weighing it again after the material is off. There are some exceptions such as commercial rates and smaller charges for smaller vehicles, as well as per item charges such as for computers and appliances.FOR CURRENT PRICING PLEASE CALL 574-232-6000.
Q. Do you have tours of your facility?
Yes we offer tours for various community groups. We ask that they be scheduled to take place during normal business hours.
Q. Are you available for presentations and seminars?
Yes we book a limited amount of presentations during the year as our schedule allows. Please contact us for further information.
Q. I hear that you have offered environmental education programs for a local high school, do you still do that?
We are always happy to work with local educators to help promote the better understanding of Brownfields and protecting the environment. Promoting recycling is always a top priority for Green Tech Transfer & Recycling.
Q. Are you new to this or do you have past experience in recycling?
The staff at Green Tech Transfer & Recycling has been in the recycling industry for most of their working carrier. Present management and staff have over 100 years combined recycling experience.
